  • 2 lbs ribeye or New York strip steak, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Chili powder, a pinch

  • Garlic powder, a pinch

  • Olive oil, for cooking

  • 1/3 cup mirin or white wine

  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 4 tbsp butter

  • 5 cloves garlic, minced

  • 4 cups water or milk (or combination)
