In a large skillet over medium heat, fry bacon until crispy. Remove and crumble, reserving the drippings in the skillet.
Sauté Vegetables:
Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet with bacon drippings. Sauté until softened, about 3–5 minutes.
Add Beans and Sauce:
Stir in baked beans, kidney beans, and barbecue sauce. Add brown sugar, mustard, and cayenne pepper.
Simmer:
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until flavors meld.
Finish and Serve:
Stir in crumbled bacon and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot as a side for grilled meats or as a hearty meal with cornbread.
