AIIMS Dermatologist Warns Against Risks of Homemade Skincare Remedies
In recent years, many people have turned to natural and homemade skincare treatments, believing they are safer and more effective than chemical-based products. However, dermatologists from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have issued a warning about the potential dangers of these DIY remedies.
According to experts, not all natural ingredients are safe for direct application to the skin. Common kitchen ingredients like lemon juice, toothpaste, baking soda, and even turmeric can cause irritation, chemical burns, or allergic reactions when used incorrectly. The pH levels of these substances can disrupt the skin’s natural barrier, leading to dryness, redness, or long-term damage.
