Preheat to 425°F (220°C).
Prepare the Batter:
In a blender or using a whisk, combine flour, milk, eggs, vanilla, 1 tbsp melted butter, sugar, and salt. Blend or whisk until smooth.
Heat the Pan:
Place a 9-inch deep pie dish in the oven for 5 minutes. Remove carefully and add 1 tbsp butter to the hot pan, swirling to coat evenly.
Bake the Dutch Baby:
Pour the batter into the prepared dish. Bake undisturbed for about 20 minutes, until puffed and golden.
Serve:
The Dutch Baby will deflate slightly as it cools—that’s normal! Dress with your favorite toppings: a dusting of powdered sugar, a pat of butter, fresh fruit, or syrup. Serve immediately.
