- Prepare the Roast: Remove the rib roast from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 1 hour. Pat it dry with paper towels. 
- Make the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix together softened butter, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and black pepper until well combined. 
- Season the Roast: Rub the garlic butter mixture all over the roast, coating every side evenly. Drizzle lightly with olive oil for extra richness. 
- Roast the Beef: Place the roast on a rack in a roasting pan. Roast in a preheated oven at 450°F (230°C) for 15 minutes to sear the outside. Then reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (165°C) and continue roasting for 1½ to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (55°C) for medium-rare. 
- Rest and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the roast rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute and keeps the meat tender and moist.
