Preheat Oven & Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Cream Butter & Cream Cheese: In a large bowl, beat together butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add Eggs & Vanilla: Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract until smooth.
Combine Wet & Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients alternately with milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
Bake: Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
