Times evolve, and so does the prevailing opinion among health professionals. Nowadays, some contend that cholesterol isn’t as perilous as once thought. While I’m not a medical expert and won’t claim that consuming 24 eggs a day is completely safe (please don’t attempt this at home), it’s only fair to mention that Dr. Norwitz’s experiment yielded some intriguing findings.
According to the esteemed doctor’s YouTube channel, his cholesterol levels did not show the anticipated increase after he ate an astonishing 720 eggs over the course of a month.
Instead, he asserted that he had seen the contrary – his LDL cholesterol levels not only stayed stable but actually decreased over time. In the initial two weeks, Dr. Norwitz’s LDL cholesterol fell by two percent, but it would continue to decline by 18 percent in the subsequent two weeks.
Exploring the science behind these findings, Dr. Norwitz clarified that the liver’s regulation of cholesterol production is affected by what we eat, and after he added more carbs to his diet, his LDL levels seemed to stabilize.
“The additional carbs outweighed the massive amounts of cholesterol I was taking in,” he stated, according to the New York Post.
In the last two weeks of his experiment, Norwitz opted for fruits like blueberries, bananas, and strawberries, leading to the significant drop mentioned earlier.
