If your baby has these marks it means… See more….

Have you ever noticed small birthmarks, patches, or tiny colored spots on your baby’s skin? Many parents worry when they first see them — but in most cases, these marks are completely normal and can actually tell a fascinating story about your baby’s development.

1️⃣ Mongolian Spots

These bluish-gray patches, often found on the lower back or buttocks, are common in babies with darker skin tones — African, Asian, and Hispanic backgrounds especially. They may look alarming, but they’re harmless and usually fade completely by the time your child turns 4 or 5.

2️⃣ Strawberry Marks (Hemangiomas) 🍓

These bright red or purple raised spots are caused by clusters of blood vessels near the skin’s surface. They may grow during the first few months, but most shrink and disappear naturally without treatment. Doctors often call them “angel kisses.”

3️⃣ Stork Bites or Salmon Patches 🕊️

Light pink or red patches often appear on a baby’s eyelids, forehead, or the back of the neck. These are caused by dilated capillaries and are completely normal. The ones on the face usually fade within a year, though the ones on the neck can stay longer — hidden under hair.
