Step 1: Cook the Sausage
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into small crumbles.
Drain any excess grease and let it cool slightly.
Step 2: Mix the Filling
In a medium bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, and shredded cheddar if using. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Step 3: Prepare the Crescents
Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles.
Step 4: Fill and Roll
Spoon a generous amount of the sausage-cream cheese mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle.
Roll the dough from the wide end to the tip, enclosing the filling. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 5: Bake
Bake for 12โ15 minutes, or until crescents are golden brown.
Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
