Step 1: Cook the Sausage
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into small crumbles. 
- Drain any excess grease and let it cool slightly. 
Step 2: Mix the Filling
- In a medium bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, and shredded cheddar if using. Mix until smooth and well combined. 
Step 3: Prepare the Crescents
- Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). 
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles. 
Step 4: Fill and Roll
- Spoon a generous amount of the sausage-cream cheese mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle. 
- Roll the dough from the wide end to the tip, enclosing the filling. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. 
Step 5: Bake
- Bake for 12β15 minutes, or until crescents are golden brown. 
- Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
