Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your pasta and cook according to the package directions until al dente.
Reserve pasta water: Before draining, save about 2 tablespoons of the cooking water.
Butter the noodles: In the same pot or a separate skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the drained noodles and toss to coat.
Add liquid and season: Pour in a splash of reserved pasta water to help the butter cling to the noodles. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder if desired.
Finish and serve: Toss in Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. Serve hot and enjoy!
