Decadent Chocolate Pound Cake

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. Cream Butter & Sugar: In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3–4 minutes.

  4. Add Eggs & Vanilla: Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.

  5. Combine Wet & Dry: Gradually add dry ingredients alternating with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. Bake: Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

  7. Optional Chocolate Glaze: Heat chocolate chips and heavy cream in a microwave or double boiler until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cake for an extra chocolate touch.
