- Season and Sear the Beef: 
 Pat the roast dry with paper towels. Rub it with salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the roast on all sides until browned.
- Prepare the Slow Cooker: 
 Place the chopped carrots, potatoes, onions, and garlic in the bottom of your slow cooker. Set the browned roast on top of the vegetables.
- Add Liquid: 
 Pour beef broth (and Worcestershire sauce, if using) over the roast and vegetables.
- Slow Cook: - Cook on Low for 8–9 hours or High for 4–5 hours, until the beef is fork-tender and the vegetables are fully cooked. 
 
- Serve: 
 Transfer the roast to a cutting board and slice against the grain. Serve with the vegetables and spoon the flavorful juices over the top.
