Cream together sugar and softened butter in a bowl.
Add the egg and mix well.
Gradually incorporate the flour and salt until smooth. Avoid overworking the dough.
Roll out and press the dough into a tart pan.
Prepare the Apples:
Peel, core, and slice the apples.
Arrange them evenly over the prepared pastry.
Make the Custard Cream:
In a large bowl, whisk together heavy cream, crème fraîche, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
Pour the mixture over the apples in the tart.
Bake:
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Bake 30–40 minutes until the custard is set and apples are lightly golden.
Serve:
Let the tart cool slightly.
Optionally dust with powdered sugar or serve with whipped cream.
