Line the bottom of your slow cooker with cherry pie filling (or homemade fillingâsee directions below).
To make homemade filling: Heat cherries in a saucepan until juices release. Add sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Stir constantly over low heat until thickened.
Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the fruit.
Pour melted butter over the top, covering as much of the cake mix as possible.
Cover and cook on high for 3 hours or until the top is golden.
